The Talk
“The Shiloh War Memorial in Tennessee in the USA is a baffling place because it celebrates the patriotism of both sides in a long, brutal, divisive war (the US Civil War of the 1860s). The very idea is in every way alien to everything we grow up believing about patriotism and nationhood. And yet somehow, it works in Shiloh.
But when I visited there, I found myself filled not with thoughts about that Civil War, but about India and Pakistan, our soldiers and our memorials.”
Dilip explores some of those thoughts at Manthan.
