Justice V Ramasubramanian, Judge, Supreme Court of India

Justice V Ramasubramanian is a sitting judge of the Supreme Court of India. He is widely respected for his wide and deep knowledge of the law and the epics, and many other subjects, and for his brilliant articulation.
Born on June 30, 1958, he graduated in Law from the Madras Law College and enrolled as a Member of the Bar on February 16, 1983. He practiced for almost 23 years in High Court of Madras, City and Small Causes Court, State Consumer Commission and District Consumer Forum, Central and State Administrative Tribunals, Chennai, in Civil and Constitutional matters and specialized in service matters.
He was appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court on July 31, 2006 and as a permanent Judge on November 9, 2009. He was transferred on his own request to the High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the States of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh with effect from April 27, 2016. After the bifurcation and the creation of a separate High Court for the State of Andhra Pradesh, he was retained as a Judge of the High Court of Telangana at Hyderabad w.e.f. January 1, 2019.
He was sworn in as the Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh High Court on 22nd June, 2019 and was elevated on 23.09.2019 as a Judge of Honourable Supreme Court of India.
