Agriculture is India’s backbone. And, agriculture has been the one big sector of the economy which has not been reformed or liberalised. It suffers badly because of this neglect. And India loses because agriculture does not prosper.
Sharad Joshi started Shetkari Sangathana and made it into India’s biggest farmers’ movement. He spearheaded the demand for big reforms. Gunvant Patil Hangargekar, Sharad Joshi’s colleague, has carried forward this movement.
In this Talk, he shall discuss what ails agriculture, and what specifically could be done to make agriculture prosper, leading to India’s prosperity.
