B.M.Hegde, Dr, Padma Bhushan Awardee

A gold medalist in MBBS from Madras University, Dr Belle Monappa Hegde (Dr. B. M. Hegde) is one of the few Physicians in the world to have acquired Fellowship from all the four Royal Colleges of Physicians in the British Isles.

A Padmabhushan Awardee (2010) & former Vice-Chancellor of Manipal University, Prof. Hegde is an internationally acclaimed Cardiologist and Medical Educator. He has traveled world over as a Visiting Professor, Examiner, Distinguished Doctor & Academician.

He has published more than 35 Books and presented 289 research papers & Articles, both in English and Kannada. His research papers have appeared in English Periodicals published from U.K., U.S.A., Germany, India, China and Kuwait and have duly highlighted various aspects of health – both for the benefit of common people and experts.

Prof. Hegde is an Affiliate Professor of Human Health – University of Northern Colorado, Chairman –  Bihar State Health Society’s Expert Committee, Member – Postgraduate Medical Education Board, Government of India & Editor in chief –  Journal of the Science of Healing Outcomes, Mangalore and Pennsylvania State University, USA

A recipient of the prestigious Dr. B. C. Roy National Award for the year 1999 in the category of “Eminent Medical Teacher”, Prof. Hegde is often referred to as ‘People’s doctor’. He is admired not only for his skills in the medical field, but also for his humane approach and his insistence of minimum use of medicines and his stress on holistic medicine.
