He talks on Transparency to Accountability referring to his campaign for the Right to Information and others
Nikhil Dey
Nikhil Dey, is a Founder Member of the MKSS, School for Democracy, the National Campaign for Peoples Right to Information (NCPRI).
He is currently a co-convenor for the NCPRI, and continues to be a part of many campaigns for rights based laws; establishing entitlements for marginalised communities.
These include campaigns for the Right to Information (RTI), Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act ( MGNREGA), the National Food Security Act (NFSA), Unorganised sector pensions and the continuing struggle to establish people centric accountability mechanisms like social audit for citizens to fight corruption and arbitrary use of power.
As a part of the Suchna Rozgaar Adhikar Abhiyan he has also been an integral part of a campaign for the right to good quality public education – Shikhsha ka Sawaal (It’s a question of education).
He was a member of the Central Employment Guarantee Council, and the Steering Committee of the multilateral Open Government Partnership from 2011 – 2015, for whom he is currently an “envoy”. He is a member of the Social Audit Governing bodies of Telangana and Chattisgarh States, and is a member of the State Audit Advisory Board in Rajasthan. He remains a full timer with the MKSS, and a part of its central decision making collective.
