Three of India’s finest poets will recite poetry of resistance.
Gauhar Raza, Hussain Haidry, Anshu Malviya
Gauhar Raza is a scientist, social activist, a leading Urdu poet and a documentary film-maker. His passion includes communicating science and promoting scientific temper.
Hussain Haidry is a poet, screenwriter and lyricist, who shot to fame when his poem Hindustani Musalmaan went viral on social media. Hussain has previously worked as a Head of Finance at a healthcare company in Kolkata where he left his job and moved to Mumbai to become a full-time writer. He started his career by performing at spoken word poetry forums in Mumbai. He has written lyrics for films like Gurgaon, Qarib Qarib Single, and Mukkabaaz; and web series like Chacha Vidhaayak Hai Humaare, Yeh Meri Family, Tripling. As a screenwriter, he has co-written the Amazon web series, Laakhon Mein Ek Season Two, and is presently working on the dialogues and screenplay of several films.
Anshu Malviya is a very popular poet. He is a social and cultural activist. He works with urban poor and informal sector workers and on composite heritage. He has published 4 books of which three are collections of poetry and one on urban poverty.
